Life inside the music box on your night-stand
Is so lonely when you’re happy;

Unless I put an end to him.
So as you strip each other down to sox
I open up the lid of my box
And as you and he kiss
I traverse the abyss to your bedside.
Then with a toothpick I hold up high
Down! Down to make your boyfriend blind
And through the chaos and the pain I make my escape;
Shut the lid and count the days;
Smile and grin I can’t wait to sing
Again.
And sure enough later that night
You hold me to your breast and cry.
I sing and dance like never before.
Can’t you see you need me my sweet?
As much as you need the air you breathe
I, your singing, scheming figurine.
